This morning I joined Alexis on Monday Breakfast for the Random Tandem. We spoke to Rupert Guinness, a Sydney journalist, who has just brought out a new book ‘What a ride’. He covers the tour from 1987 when the first Aussie competed ‘Phil Anderson’! He shares wonderful anecdotes about his experience watching the tour and has the gift of perspective.

This week I speak to Geoff Huntley about his most recent cycle touring trip to India on 18a UNICYCLE! One 36″wheel and 500kms of unforgiving roads below. He toured in a party of 6 (all unicyclists!) which included Australians, French and Canadians! Some lovely stories about how people reacted to him emerge.

This week BikeLove chats to Brettski… a courier who has served Sydney well, he has just notched up 25 years! He first began couriering in 1984! Lycra hadn’t yet become fashionable and fax machines were not even around!! He is 45 years but looks about 20 years younger, known as the ‘buns of steel’ he has a passing resemblance to Raul Alcala…

This week I leave the bike at home… Ever walked along the coastal park of the Royal National Park? It’s beautiful and I’d thoroughly recommend it, especially the wild, fresh water swimming holes along the way. I went this Easter and I didn’t take my camera, instead I took my audio recorder.
