This week BikeLove talks to members of the Nunnery! A bicycle workshop in Redfern where you can take your bike and learn how to fix it for free! Lots of tools and spare parts to use… even whole bikes if you want to get into cycling but don’t want to spend up until you know you’ll enjoy it! (as if you wouldn’t!!) We spoke to Julian who has been there the longest so is kind of in charge… We also spoke to many other volunteers and users of the workshop. They are always on the look out for spare bike bits… so if you have a bike or some tools you no longer need why not donate!
Find them at 1 Phillip St, Redfern every Monday from 5pm til dark!
Having trouble uploading MP3s… 2SERs site is down so watch this space for this weeks and last weeks MP3

This week we cycle from Clovelly to Balmoral beach at 4am to catch the dawn chorus. Not the feathered chorus, this is the Sydney Philharmonic Choir singing on Balmoral beach at 5.30am – just in time for sun up. And I can’t think of a better way to get there than by bike. Especially as we flew down Awaba Road passed all the cars desperately looking for a park! The ride over was beautiful, even if Ben Boyd Road almost killed me! Silent, black Centennial Park… Mad and Bad Taylor Square, the thrill of the Harbour Bridge and the peace of the North Shore… ahhh… If you want to catch another Dawn Chorus there are two more to go.
