BikeLove caught up with Anne Mustoe just before she set off to San Diego to cycle across the southern states of America. This will be another long haul cycle tour to add to her already extensive list. She has made cycle touring her career, writing many books about her travels, yet she only made her first trip when she was 54 yrs! She is now 75 yrs and still going strong!

17 November – Bicycle Film Festival
November 17, 2008 · Leave a Comment
BikeLove attends the totally awesome Sydney Bicycle film Festival! For the third year running Sydney hosts the festival which forms part of a global phenomenon. An international, travelling festival showcasing bicycle films it began in New York and now takes place in 17 locations. It pulls in crowds from near and far and with many making a pilgrimage to more than one city. There are some wonderful films on offer this year. The award winning Standing Start featuring Craig McLean and the brilliant Road to Roubaix based on the 2007 race where O’Grady became the undisputed Vainquer.
I caught up with Brendt Barbour the founding director of the festival to find out more.
If you missed out on Sydney, the film festival travels to Melbourne and will be screening at the VCA Federation Hall in St Kilda. See the website for details.

In the lead up to the Sydney Bicycle Film Festival
there are some very cool art exhibitions. This week BikeLove visits ‘At The Vanishing Point‘ at 565 King St, Newtown. Here there are some excellent exhibits from artistic cyclists as well as artists who have warmed to the bicycle theme. We also visit ‘The Regard Gallery‘ at 372 Wilson St, Darlington (opp Carriageworks) to see Gilbert’s exhibition of the Sydney Green Ring. Beautiful painted images from the secret canal pathways that make up the 38kms round trip.
